Job Summary

Capital Asset Manager - Projects is responsible for overseeing accounting functions related to capital asset projects, in order to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for Harris Health System's (the System) infrastructure in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
a) Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
b) Master's degree in accounting or finance

Licenses & Certifications:
a) Certified Public Accountant

Work Experience:
a) Six (6) Years Work Experience in the Financial area; healthcare experience preferred

Management Experience:
a) Four (4) Years of Management Experience in Accounting management/supervisory experience

Communication Skills:
a) Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
b) Writing/ Correspondence
c) Writing/Reports

Proficiencies:
a) MS Word
b) Personal Computer
c) MS Excel: Expert (V-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)

- Possesses an advanced knowledge and understanding of capital assets, lease accounting, and other capital asset accounting.
- Possesses an advanced knowledge and understanding, with progressive development, of financial statements and relationships, analytical techniques, operations, GAAP, and accounting practices and procedures
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data and draw meaningful conclusions
- Possesses excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Must possess ability to effectively supervise and manage multiple direct reports, as required, and collaborate with others within the System
- Progressive learning with respect to decision- making responsibility with minimal guidance
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage time and adhere to deadlines
- Self-starter with the ability to effectively follow difficult issues to resolution

- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism Team player that supervises, trains, and leads the Capital Assets senior and staff accountants

Other Special Requirements:

Equipment Operated: PC, ERP systems ( prefer PeopleSoft)

Other Requirements: Must be familiar with fundamentals of hospital/clinic organization and functions of various fiscal departments. Must be familiar with ERP systems.
