Job Summary
The (CCT) Nursing Program Manager (NPM) Critical Care Transport is accountable for the operational, human resource, quality, and financial management of assigned nursing specialty area(s)/programs. This manager works with the administrative director to translate pavilion and department strategic plans and policies into a plan suitable to the unique operational needs. The NPM leads implementation and evaluation of the plan and provides reports relevant to achievement of goals. As Applicable, the NPM is accountable for assuring the Harris Health System Nursing Professional Practice Model (NPPM) is implemented and targeted outcomes achieved on assigned area(s)/program. The NPM provides oversight to ensure area care delivery, quality management, and staff utilization patterns are congruent with NPPM framework as well as Emergency Medical Services (EMs) Personnel professional framework. In addition, this manager facilitates actualization of shared governance and practice level advancement of area personnel. The NPM has the authority to make all operational and human resource decisions relevant to his or her assigned area as long as decisions are consistent with district and nursing and departmental policies, standards, and other Chief Nursing Officer and Nurse Executive Council approved guidelines.

The NPM is responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that cultivates exemplary patient care. As a member of the nursing leadership team, the NPM establishes a setting that supports professional nursing and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) practice and empowers nurses and EMTs of all levels to provide safe, effective, compassionate, and efficient care in collaboration with all health care disciplines. The NPM ensures compliance with standards established by professional nursing and EMS organizations; national, state, and local regulatory agencies; and institutional policies and procedures. The NPM is accountable for nursing and EMS practice that upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior. The NPM mentors others, role models professionalism, and participation in activities such as nursing and EMS organizations, nursing and EMS research, and the community.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelors degree in Nursing or related field required. Masters degree in Nursing or related field is preferred. Holds at least one (1) of the following in Nursing: Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree

License & Certifications:
Licensed to practice as RN in the state of TX
National Registry and Licensed Paramedic in the state of Texas required.
EMS Instructor License preferred.
Applicable professional certifications in Emergency and Trauma Nursing required (CEN and TCRN).
Certified Transport or Flight Registered Nurse Certification required with one year of hire.
Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
Pediatric Advanced Left Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
TNCC Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum through the Emergency Nurses Association.

Work Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in related clinical area of practice.

Management/Experience: One (1) year related management/leadership experience is required.
