Job Summary
The Manager Infection Prevention is responsible for providing effective leadership and program direction for Infection Prevention within the respective Pavilion assigned. Develops a strategic plan for Infection Prevention Program that identifies short term goals that address immediate needs and priorities, identifies long terms goals that exemplify the desired state, and goals and objectives that are measurable. Maintains department operation and appropriate staffing (i.e. hiring, training, supervision, etc). Prepares monthly operational and staffing productivity report and acts as a facilitator/ liaison for departments and regulatory agencies. Develops and enforces effective policies and procedures that ensure compliance with TJC, OSHA, CDC and other county, state, and federal agencies. Directs and assists in preparing reports and statistical data to the Infection Control Committee, Chief of Staff, medical Committees and/or Administration. Provides support for the development, coordination, and integration of a District-wide Infection Prevention Program. Role models effective communication, conflict management, problem solving, negotiation, change management and leadership skills. Uses a systematic approach to monitor the effectiveness of prevention and control strategies that are consistent with the organizations goals and objectives. Systematically evaluates the effectiveness of the program appropriate to the practice setting. Functions as an integral part of performance improvement initiatives to promote positive patient and employee outcomes. Acts as an information resource for healthcare workers, medical staff, committees and departments. Works with all Medical Staff Services, Nursing and Allied Health and/or Support services to promote successful resolution and outcomes. Skilled in managing a diverse group of individuals performing a variety of functions. Serves as a change agent.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees:
Bachelor of Nursing Degree or related field
Master of Nursing Degree or related field preferred

Licenses & Certifications:
Registered Nurse in the state of Texas
Certification in Infection Control

Work Experience:
Three (3) years work experience in hospital related infection prevention program development and performance improvement programs.
Five (5) years work experience in a clinical capacity

Management Experience:
Two (2) years management experience in hospital acute care setting.

Language Skills: Bilingual; Spanish preferred

Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking), Writing /Correspondence, Writing /Reports

Proficiencies: MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, P.C.
