Job description

Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, helppharmacists prepare, and distribute prescribed medication and other health care products to patients and customers. Tasks include prepare dosage medications for dispensing into bottles/containers and unit dose packaging/repackaging, counting pills/tablets, mixing medications that need to be reconstituted with water, preparation of oral syringes, compounding sterile preparations, filing, inventory, medication delivery to patient care units, filling/replenishing automated dispensing cabinets, and the collection, organization, and verification of patient information. Clerical duties include answering phones, stocking shelves, cash collection/management, and data entry. The need for absolute accuracy and precision in all aspects of the job is essential to ensure patient health and safety.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED; Registered by and in good standing with Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician; or licensed by and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist Intern. ACPE IV Sterile Certification

Special Requirements:
CRT, Mathematics, Medical Terms, PC and Typing.
