JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Resource Nurse II (CRN II) assesses, plans, develops, implements and evaluates education activities, competency validation, clinical care, programs and initiatives for the assigned department/units. The CRN II demonstrates expert clinical knowledge and skills and effective teaching/education skills and supports system level nursing clinical and education nursing initiatives.

The CRN II provides leadership within the department including: quality improvement activities; supports effective human resources management; and supports resource accountability. The CRN II exemplifies professionalism and promotes a customer-friendly environment by utilizing ServiceFIRST behaviors in interactions with patients, families, and staff members.

The CRN II is responsible for facilitating an environment that cultivates exemplary patient care. As a member of the nursing leadership team, the CRN II establishes a setting that supports professional nursing practice and empowers nurses to provide safe, effective, compassionate and efficient nursing care in collaboration with all health care disciplines. The CRN II facilitates enculturation of the Harris Health System Nursing Professional Practice Model (NPPM), its goals and achievement of targeted outcomes at the unit level. The CRN II supports compliance with standards established by professional nursing organizations; national, state, and local regulatory agencies and institutional policies and procedures. The CRN II holds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior, mentors others, role models professionalism, and participates in activities such as nursing organizations, nursing research, and the community.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:

a. Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing or related field is required.
b. Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas. Recognition as an advanced practice nurse/CNS preferred.

Related specialty certification required within two years of employment.

Work Experience: Five (5) years of work experience in related clinical area of practice is required.

Management/Experience: Two (years) related clinical/leadership experience is required.
