JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Technician I (NT I) is accountable for supporting patient care activities, under the supervision of a registered nurse on inpatient nursing units. The NT I works closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to assure that patient care needs are met. The NT I performs patient care activities, as delegated, and adheres to patient safety measures. The NT I has basic knowledge of medical terminology and possesses communication, organizational, and computer skills. The NT I demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:

Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Nursing program, has completed the Nursing fundamentals course and one clinical rotation.

Licensure/Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Equipment Operated: Nurse Call system and headwall, patient bed, head wall devices, vital sign monitoring equipment, supply-dispensing machines.
